RULES & REGULATIONS GOVERNING ALL ADMISSIONS AT WITTY STUDENT HOUSING APARTMENTS (Hostel)

All interested applicants are requested to read about our Hostel philosophy, features and facilities offered, our safety parameters, our management pedagogy and all the Rules and Regulations before applying for admission at our Hostel. It will be assumed that all applicants have read the rules and regulations if application for admission is received at our Hostel. These rules are applicable to all applicants and residents staying at our Hostel.

  1. Admission to the hostel is open to female students who are enrolled in Educational Institutions in Mumbai for Graduation/ Post-Graduation Courses & Female Working Professionals, preferably between the age of 18 to 40 years.
  2. New admissions are granted strictly on recommendation / reference and subject to availability of seats and at the sole discretion of the Management. All applications have to be submitted online / in person at our Hostel Office. Application for admission will be processed only once recommendation is approved and after receipt of complete fees. Hostel authorities will communicate only with the resident email id provided by the applicant at the time of application for admission.
  3. All documents must be annexed / uploaded as requested for in the application form. Incomplete application forms will not be entertained.
  4. Medical history if any must be disclosed by the resident with necessary fitness certificate from the Physician at the time of admission. Hostel does not bear responsibility for any medical emergency due to non-disclosure of medical history at the time of admission.
  5. To respect resident privacy, occupied rooms are not shown. Applicants may view a demo room (subject to availability) or browse our online photos/ videos prior to seeking admission.
  6. Applicants will be given admission only through proper administrative procedure. Likewise, any kind of bribing / gratification to any individual for availing admission is not encouraged by the hostel.
  7. The hostel management reserves the right to reject applications received for admission without giving any reason whatsoever. The hostel reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant if they do not meet the admission criteria or if applicant’s behavior / conduct is deemed unsuitable.
  8. Admissions will not be granted on a trial basis.
  1. Bed Charges / Hostel Fees (as per duration of stay) and Security Deposit are payable upfront before check- in for each year / duration of stay as sanctioned / once admission is granted. Check In will be granted only after payment confirmation is received from our accounts team.
  2. Fees once paid are not transferable / adjustable or refundable under any circumstances. Requests received towards the same will not be entertained by the hostel management. Please read the applicable policy for booking/ admission cancellation.
  3. Residents will be expected to pay separately for any other services availed which are not part of the inclusions (like outsourced Dry cleaning service, food delivery from various restaurants, tiffin service, event registrations, etc)
  4. Fee revisions take place periodically and are updated on our website. Fees stay fixed for a given tenure for the current resident, however renewal will be done at the current applicable fees on the date of renewal.
  5. Allotment of Floors and rooms will be at the sole discretion of the Hostel Administrative Department. Requests for change in room numbers / floors will not be entertained unless there is a specific genuine reason and is subject to vacancy. Transfer charges of Rs 10,000/- is applicable for room transfer.
  6. Duplicate I-card / Access card / Spare Key (if lost) will be charged @ Rs. 500/- and will be issued within one week of receipt of such payment.
  7. GST as applicable will be payable separately in addition to hostel fees.
  8. If the admission is cancelled in the midterm, No Dues Certificate will be issued only after clearance of the fees for the balance term. GST and other statutory taxes as and where applicable will be payable separately.
  9. Hostel Management reserves the right to modify the fees from time to time.
  10. Hostel reserves the right to suspend the services to the resident if any kind of outstanding dues are reflected. Also, our mobile app / resident portal will issue reminders for outstanding fees for a couple of weeks and will block access to the mobile app/ biometric/ room access thereafter, if the outstanding fees remain unpaid.
  11. Security Deposit is payable separately as applicable and the same shall be refunded subject to any applicable deductions within a month of the student vacating the hostel.
  12. For Pre-booking cancellations, administrative charges apply. Please go through the detailed cancellation policy.

Fee Structure with effect from 1st January 2025

  1. Standard check in timing for move in is 11.00 am to 2 pm. Residents will be allowed to move in only on the specified date and timings allotted by the hostel authorities. Parents / Guardian (females only) will be allowed to accompany the resident in the room for an hour at the time of check in to help settle in the room. However, parents / guardians will not be allowed to enter resident rooms post the day of check in.
  2. We follow a fixed tenure system (1st to 30th) of the tenure period and do not offer date to date stays. Mid- month check-ins are allowed, but vacating must be on 30th of the final month of tenure.
  3. The hostel office should be informed of the expected date and time of arrival of the new resident.
  4. Residents are permitted to move in with two bags - CABIN SIZE. Oversized bags are not permitted. Students are not permitted to keep big cartons in the room which may clutter the space. All personal belongings must be stored in the wardrobe and the bed storage provided only.
  5. All basic amenities such as toaster, fridge, microwave, bed, mattress, study table, curtains, etc. are provided by the Hostel administration in each flat. Residents must inspect all amenities before occupying the room and must intimate the hostel authorities if any defect is observed.
  6. Hostel does not provide cutlery, toiletries etc. Residents are expected to arrange the same on their own.
  7. The resident will have to sign the hostel policy form, application form and follow the check-in procedures for new admissions/ renewals.
  8. All residents will have to compulsorily download the mobile application and/or register on the resident portal (website) meant for all residents. All information and communication with all the residents will strictly happen via the mobile application/ resident portal only. Also all leave approvals and scanning requirements as per the app (if applicable) will be mandatory.
  9. The resident has to check out on the last day of their package tenure. Check out timings are between 11 am to 3 pm on the said date of check out.
  10. Residents are advised to request their renewal/tenure extension well in advance. Rooms are automatically allotted to new applicants after the current resident’s tenure ends, so the same room or continued stay in the hostel in any other room cannot be guaranteed without prior renewal approval.
  11. Residents must return all issued items in good condition at the time of check-out. Charges for damaged/ lost items are payable by the resident; unpaid charges will be adjusted against the security deposit.
  1. Entry to the hostel campus, facility floors, flat entry on all days will be strictly via the Resident (RFID) I- Card/ Fingerprint Biometrics of the residents on the day of Check In.
  2. Residents will be allowed to move out of the hostel only after 5.00 am sharp in the morning unless specific permission is obtained from the hostel warden.
  3. Residents will have to report before 10.30 pm in the night after which the hostel gates shall be closed. Residents who have availed special advance permission will only be allowed to enter late at night as per the permission granted.
  4. Any student staying out of the hostel for any reasons whatsoever shall have to submit the leave application on resident portal or put a request mail to the hostel during designated office hours with cc marked to the parents / guardians’ seeking approval for late night entry/ night out/ vacation leave as applicable from the Hostel Warden. The security personnel retain the right to grant access within the hostel premise only after confirming the leave approval. Any dispute with security staff on this is strictly prohibited.
  5. All our residents are adults and hostel staff does not share residents’ in/ out details with parents. However, for late entry/ leave of absence from hostel, the earlier mentioned condition applies.
  6. Late- night deliveries between 11.30 pm and 6 am are not permitted. Any exception requires prior approval.
  7. The Hostel is equipped with ample CCTV cameras installed at all important locations. There are 24 x7 well trained security guards stationed at the entry gates with proper visitor management software and mobile application. No outsider will have access to any of the floors under any circumstances. Likewise, regular patrolling by the security guards shall be done at regular intervals on all the floors.
  8. Visitors are strictly not permitted within the hostel premise, once the resident has checked in.
  9. Hostel has 24x7 female supervisor and security personnel guarding and supervising all areas of the hostel. The admin team will be available during office hours to assist with any administrative concern.
  • Video Door Phone, RFID access to the Flat/ Key access / Fingerprint access to individual rooms.
  • Single Bed (6x3 size) with Mattress, mattress protector, bedsheet, Duvet with Duvet cover, Pillows with pillow covers, Bath Towels, Hand Towels, Laundry Bags
  • Personalized wardrobe (3x6 ft) for each student with a Digital Safe, Student table and chair (as per room format)
  • Split AC
  • Microwave oven, Refrigerator, Bread toaster, Electric Kettle in each kitchen
  • 24x7 Drinking water & Water Purifier in each kitchen
  • 24x7 water supply and Instant Geyser, Mirror in each toilet
  • Window Grills, mosquito net and Curtains for all windows.
  1. The hostel provides a variety of facilities and amenities as per the respective hostel location.
  2. All facilities can be used by the residents only as per the timings allocated / appointments granted via the resident portal and by using the resident I-Card.
  3. If reading lounge/ library is available in the hostel the below rules apply:
    • Maintain silence; phones must be on silent mode and calls are not allowed.
    • No noise, disturbance, food, or drinks inside the library.
    • Clear the work space and take your belongings with you after use.
    • Do not mark, write on, or tear library materials.
    • The library is not responsible for personal belongings and nothing must be left behind.
    • Staff may ask users to leave or levy penalties for inappropriate behavior or violation of rules.
  4. If gym is available in the hostel the below rules apply:
    • Gym hours: 5:00 a.m – 11.30 p.m.
    • Return all equipment in the proper place after use.
    • Any damage to sports or gym equipment will be penalized
  5. Any damage caused to the amenities due to misuse or negligence will be charged to the resident responsible.
  6. Hostel Warden/ Supervisor reserves the right to inspect rooms and common areas and penalize for any damage/ violation of rules.
  7. Photographs of common spaces and events will be used for promotional purposes by the Hostel.
  1. Hostel will provide a well-equipped Dining Hall facility for the residents serving healthy, nutritious and quality food prepared by central team of Chefs.
  2. Residents will be able to enjoy Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner for 6 days a week and only Breakfast and Lunch on Sundays and National Holidays. Sunday will be a feast day for residents.
  3. Dining at our hostels is an outsourced and complimentary service. Any legitimate feedback in relation to dining can be shared on the hostel app/ resident portal and due cognizance will be taken after analyzing the overall reviews by the executive kitchen team.
  4. Residents must follow the designated food timings as finalized by the Hostel Warden. Meals will not be provided beyond the applicable meal timings.
  5. Food must be self- served and must be eaten in the dining hall only. Food cannot be taken to resident rooms. Also Dining Hall cutlery cannot be taken to individual rooms.
  6. Food wastage is not appreciated and will be penalized.
  7. Our menu is carefully planned to provide homely, wholesome, nutritious vegetarian food (with Jain and non-Jain vegetarian options). Personal food requests or changes beyond the set menu are not accepted.
  1. Some of our hostels may have a dedicated common space for Laundry having washing machines and dryer facility. Residents may use the said laundry facility. Kindly ensure the use of the correct detergent while using the washing machines and keep the machine free for use by promptly removing the laundry once the wash cycle is completed.
  2. Laundry service is outsourced and complimentary at all our hostels. Hostel management will not entertain any complaints pertaining to laundry service offered by the outsourced agency. No claim of any nature shall be entertained by the management concerning deficiency in laundry service or for damage to any clothes / other articles.
  3. Kindly note the below policies applicable with the professional laundry service:
    • Laundry services are meant for regular daily wear only. For hygiene considerations, inner wear or socks will not be accepted for Laundry.
    • Any delicate or expensive branded clothing/ clothes that bleed, Woolens, jackets, leather items, embroidered clothing, Items strictly meant for dry cleaning should not be given in general laundry service, as they can get damaged
    • Dry cleaning service is optional and can be availed at additional cost as per the charges levied by the laundry agency.
    • For all services, the laundry agency exercises reasonable care in processing articles that are entrusted to them and processing each article using methods that are best suited to the fabric's natural construction and condition.
    • The agency does not assume responsibilities for inherent weaknesses or defects in materials that are not visibly apparent prior to processing. This applies particularly, but not exclusively to suede, leather, silk, satin, double-face fabric, vinyl, polyurethanes.
    • However, the agency cannot assume responsibilities for changes in texture, running of dyes, appearance of stains, spots, fading, discoloration, old stains, ripping/tearing of fabric, hidden defects, nap distortion, watermarking, pre-existing conditions (visual or non-visual) or any other defects on cleaned article/s which may occur due to weak and tender fabrics that is beyond their care methods.
    • The laundry agency does not guarantee stain removal for all stains and the agency would not be held responsible for stains which cannot be removed that are beyond their care methods.
  4. All articles must be inspected and dissatisfaction, if any, shall be intimated to the laundry professional at the time of collection.
  5. Where laundry department is within the hostel building it is the responsibility of the residents to submit their laundry and collect the laundry on the next day of submission within the office hours. If laundry is not collected on time, laundry agency will not be responsible for any loss/ damage of clothes.
  1. Hostel has well appointed, well trained Housekeeping staff members who would do the housekeeping and washroom cleaning of each flat.
  2. Housekeeping services are available only from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
  3. Room cleaning will take place as per the scheduled timings and not on an on-call basis. Our trained housekeeping staff will clean all rooms and washrooms as per schedule and may enter rooms even if residents are not present. Residents must keep all valuables securely locked, as the hostel is not responsible for any loss or damage. Skipping housekeeping for the day requires consent from all roommates and the admin needs to be informed on the same a day prior.
  4. Residents must keep the kitchen area clean, wash their own utensils, and regularly clean the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets. All stale or expired food items must be disposed off promptly, and food should not be left near beds or unattended as it attracts pests.
  5. While the hostel conducts regular pest control, any room-specific pest issues arising from poor hygiene are the resident’s responsibility. Unhygienic or cluttered kitchen conditions will lead to penalties.
  6. Microwave glass plates must be handled carefully and replaced if broken.
  7. Electric Kettles are to be used only for heating water and not for preparing coffee, Maggi, or any food items.
  8. Use of Induction or hot stove is strictly prohibited in rooms and kitchen area.
  9. Residents may raise a ticket on the resident portal or hostel app for any maintenance issue. Complaints are attended to within 24–72 hours. If a repair requires replacement or additional time, the hostel will ensure the issue is resolved at the earliest possible.
  10. The maintenance team may enter rooms with the admin staff, even in the residents’ absence to carry out necessary work, including regular maintenance and pest control. Residents are advised to secure all personal belongings and cooperate with the team during such visits.
  11. Residents may bring and use Iron / Steam iron in their room for personal use. Also, humidifiers/ dehumidifiers are not provided in the rooms; Residents may procure their own equipment for required humidity management in their rooms.
  1. Visitors are not allowed to enter the hostel premises. They will be entertained only till the security cabin.
  2. Food / grocery delivery from outside restaurants and stores will be restricted till the security area only. Delivery is not permitted from 11.30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Residents will have to pick up such delivery from the security counter. The hostel will not entertain claims for loss of parcel, so it is advised that residents coordinate with the delivery person and are available in person to take their delivery near the security cabin.
  3. The resident is responsible for the behavior of their visitors if and only permitted for limited duration as per sole discretion of hostel administration staff.
  4. The hostel management reserves the right to deny entry to any visitor.
  5. Visitors are not allowed to use any of the hostel amenities or facilities.
  6. There will be no parking for the residents/ visitors inside the hostel campus.
  1. Residents must respect each other's privacy and personal space along with each other's beliefs, cultures, and values.
  2. Residents must maintain silence and follow lights-off rules between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. No loud conversations, videos, music, or disturbance of any kind during quiet hours.
  3. Phone calls, videos, and online classes must always be taken with earphones. Speaker mode and loud conversations that disturb roommates are strictly prohibited at all times. Forcing roommates to switch off lights/AC during allowed hours is not permitted.
  4. Residents are not permitted to enter other residents’ rooms. Friends within the hostel may meet in designated common areas to avoid disturbing roommates.
  5. Residents must respect each other’s personal space, belongings, hygiene needs, and study/sleep schedules. Anyone unable to adjust to shared living norms may be advised to discontinue staying.
  6. All residents must maintain cleanliness in the room and washroom. Hair, tissues, and personal waste must be disposed of properly. Toilets must be flushed after every use, and surfaces kept clean for the next person.
  7. Sanitary pads must be wrapped securely and disposed of only in designated bins.
  8. AC temperature must remain between 22°C–24°C. Geysers, exhaust fans, water purifiers, or any electrical appliances must not be kept on continuously, as this can cause safety hazards and equipment damage.
  9. In compliance with energy responsibility, Lights, fans, ACs, and other electrical appliances must be switched off when no resident is in the room.
  10. If snoring or other health concerns disturb a roommate’s sleep, the resident must take reasonable corrective measures (medical consultation, nasal strips, sleep positioning, etc.). Refusal to cooperate will be treated as non-compatibility with co-living norms.
  11. Smoking, vaping, alcohol, drug use, or possession of prohibited substances, consumption of non veg food, within hostel premises is strictly prohibited.
  12. Ragging in any form—including name-calling, bullying, body-shaming, abusive language, harassment, intimidation, or violence—is strictly prohibited and will invite disciplinary/legal action and will lead to immediate termination of accommodation.
  13. Any violation of hostel rules, repeated disturbances, or failure to cooperate with co-living standards may result in termination of contract. No refund will be issued if the contract is terminated due to resident misconduct.
  14. Cooking is strictly not allowed inside the flats. Only Microwave oven provided by the hostel may be used to heat cooked food. Likewise, residents are not permitted to use any kind of stove / gas / electric induction cooking device etc.
  15. Personal food items can be stored in common refrigerators. The residents should adequately label their food items. Hostel will not be liable for consumption of personal food items by the other residents.
  16. Residents will use appropriate courteous language and behavior while communicating with hostel administration, hostel support staff and co residents.
  17. Any damage done in the rooms or in the hostel premises has to be made good by the resident.
  18. The hostel management will not accept responsibility for any interpersonal issues of the residents within the hostel premise or outside.
  19. There is one fundamental hostel rule, that all residents at all times will behave sensibly and show courtesy, consideration and respect for others and do nothing that will bring the hostel's name into disrepute.
  20. Living in a shared room requires mutual respect, cooperation, and responsible behavior. All residents are required to follow the guidelines mentioned above to ensure a peaceful, hygienic, and safe stay for everyone.
  1. Residents must abide by all hostel rules and regulations at all times.
  2. Any violation of hostel rules or regulations will result in disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the management.
  3. Hostel management reserves full authority to expel any resident whose conduct is inappropriate or in violation of hostel rules.
  4. Hostel management is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to residents’ personal belongings.
  5. Hostel management may amend hostel rules at any time; such changes will be binding on all residents, and residents are expected to stay updated through official communication or the hostel website.
  6. Shifting furniture in the room, taking equipment or furniture from common area to rooms, damaging property, sticking items on walls/furniture, scribbling/ painting on walls, linen, furniture is strictly prohibited. Likewise, taking meals served in dining hall to your rooms, spilling beverages in room, and activities such as applying cake on each other are strictly prohibited and will result in penalties.
  7. Residents are not permitted to stay in or enter rooms allotted to others; any such complaint will be dealt with strictly.
  8. Pets of any kind are strictly prohibited inside hostel premises.
  9. Littering inside rooms, flats, hostel campus, or throwing waste out of windows is strictly forbidden and will attract penalties.
  10. Residents are not allowed to park two-wheelers or four-wheelers inside hostel premises.
  11. In case of termination of the accommodation contract due to violation of rules, no refund will be provided under any circumstances.
  1. Hostel will provide only basic first aid facility within the campus.
  2. On Call Medical doctor facility will be available with applicable charges as per tie up with various local dispensaries and hospitals. The consultation charges need to be borne by the resident. Any medicine / medical aid required by a resident will have to be arranged by the resident on her own.
  3. Hostel has a provision for a stretcher, wheelchair and a first aid kit bay.
  4. In the event that a resident requires hospitalization, all admission and related formalities must be completed solely by the resident herself, her parent, or her guardian. Hostel staff will provide support in terms of information and coordination where possible, but the hostel will not be responsible for completing hospital admission procedures or providing attendants.
  5. If a resident is unwell, we fully understand that she may require a special diet. While our kitchen team does its best to serve a balanced daily menu for everyone, we are unable to provide customized or medical meals. In such situations, we kindly request residents and/or their parents/guardians to arrange the required special food as per their health needs.
  6. . For the safety of all residents in our shared accommodation, anyone diagnosed with a contagious illness (chicken pox, or similar infections) must temporarily vacate the hostel and seek treatment at home or in a medical facility. The resident may return only after the contagion period is fully over.

The hostel fees once paid are not refundable, transferable or adjustable under any circumstances after a student has moved in the hostel. Students must apply for hostel facility only after their admission in college is confirmed. Hostel management will not entertain any refund application under any circumstances and the vacant bed will be allotted to the next waiting list candidate.

If a student / resident is expelled from the hostel for any reasons whatsoever, hostel fees paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Security Deposit shall be refunded within 30 days of the student leaving the hostel subject to No Dues.

For pre-booking cancellations before check-in, administrative charges will be deducted as per cancellation policy given below:

In cases where resident has not moved in to the hostel- Prebooking:

  • If Admission is cancelled before 90 days of move in date of the hostel, Rs. 20,000/- lump sum or 20% of the total Fees paid to the hostel till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs from the total fees paid as booking.
  • If Admission is cancelled between 61st day – 90th day before move-in date of the hostel, Rs. 25,000/- lumpsum or 25% of the total Fees paid to the hostel till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs from the total fees paid as booking.
  • If Admission is cancelled between 31st day – 60th day before move-in date of the hostel, Rs. 30,000/- lump sum or 30% of the overall Fees paid to the hostel till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs from the total fees paid as booking.
  • If Admission is cancelled between 1st day – 30th day before the move-in date of the hostel, Rs. 50,000/- lump sum or 50% of the overall Fees paid to the hostel till the date of cancellation, whichever is higher shall be deducted as administrative costs from the total fees paid as booking.

*Hostel Management does not entertain any kind of refund application after the applicant/resident has checked in at our hostel. Fees paid are not adjustable, refundable and transferable under any circumstances after the check in.*

These guidelines and regulations are to ensure that the hostel is a safe and comfortable living environment for all residents. Any violation of these guidelines and regulations may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to warning, suspension, or expulsion from the hostel.
